Two days ago Cyberscoop was one of a number of websites reporting a Class Action suit being brought against Zoom (The Video Teleconferencing Site) by a consumer for sharing customer data with Facebook without approval. Since the passing of GDPR, I have often spoken to companies about new privacy laws and how those laws will become more and more widespread and be used to force companies to consider how they manage the data of their customers and employees. The fact that we are deep inside a crisis does not change how these laws will be implemented and enforced. Every company has to have a clear understanding of these privacy laws and how to best comply. I think this is just the tip of the iceberg and we will see more of these lawsuits in the days and weeks to come.
